Ruben Loftus-Cheek lit up Stamford Bridge in his second start of the season. The English midfielder scored a hat-trick in our 3-1 win over Bate Borisov in the Europa League and proved he can do a great job.
The 22-year-old hasn’t played many games this season due to immense competition for the midfield spots in Maurizio Sarri’s side. However, this was a timely reminder of the quality Loftus-Cheek possesses.
The midfielder spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and his performances for the Eagles earned him a spot in the English World Cup squad.
Chelsea have a number of games coming up and the Englishman’s performance will surely be a positive for the rest of the season.
Sarri could think of playing him more often instead of either Mateo Kovacic or Ross Barkley. However, some Chelsea supporters were certain the midfielder could be our new striker.
