Chelsea star Eden Hazard has admitted he is enjoying life at Stamford Bridge, but has not agreed to a new contract.
The little Belgian superstar is enjoying some of the best football he has ever produced and already has six goals to his name this season.
But it was not long ago that he was being heavily linked with a big transfer move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, who were reportedly ready to offer around £170 million to complete a deal for Hazard.
Indeed Hazard even admitted that he would be open to the idea of signing for Madrid, especially as he wants the chance to win a Champions League title.
However, reports in the media over the last week have claimed that he is all set to become one of the highest paid players in the Premier League, with Chelsea prepared to offer him around £391,000-a-week to end all speculation on his future and fully commit to the club.
Hazard’s current contract still has two-years to run and Chelsea were hoping to secure him for another two, but the Belgian has admitted that he has not signed a new contract.
“I haven’t signed a contract,” the Belgian said after scoring the winning goal in his team’s Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool in midweek.
“Not yet, not yet.”
Here is what we think on Hazard signing a new deal.
Chelsea need Hazard to commit to a longer deal as he will be able to depart the club next summer for an absolute bargain, as he will only have a year left to run on his current contract at the club.
But it would be a massive surprise to see him sign the deal and then stay, as all indications suggested that he was more than ready to pack his bags and make the big money move to Madrid.
